The "Double Dip"

Ladies, I am going to tell you about a hair "tool" that could change your life. It did mine! I know, this is big. Surely you have all seen the commercials for the "bump it", or how ever it is spelled, or longed for your hair to have the extra poof in the top. Well, wait no more. Introducing ..... the "Double Dip". This is a comb that has three rows of short teeth. It is perfect for ratting, teasing, or doing whatever else to your hair. I keep one at home, in my purse, in the car. Mebco makes the product and you can find them at Sally Beauty Supply or most other beauty supply stores. The best part, you ask?... only $1.69.

Now ya'll are probably thinking where did this comb get its name?!?!?!
A friend told me about this and when I went to purchase it, the clerk told me it was called a "double dip". So, I believed her and it stuck. Mebco calls it the "pocket brush". Hello... that is SOOOOO boring. The website gives it a bajillion stars, and so do I. It will instantly make your hair look good.
Try it out. Also, would love to know about your favorite tricks for good hair!

RSVP

I am new to the blogging world. More on that later. For now, my first post!

I must start by saying I am a total Emily post/Amy Vanderbilt junkie. There is nothing better than a well mannered/poised person. Moving on...

répondez s'il vous plaît - pronounced "respond-es see voo play".
RSVP in English, French or any other language is code for: "I am having a party and it would do me a great deal of service to have a head count, so please, please, please let me know if you will be in attendance". Guests of any soiree, large or small should feel honored that they are invited and I suppose this is why I am so baffled when cannot RSVP. (I know, I sound like an old lady). I think it is a generational thing?!?!?
Seriously, I don't understandy why it is so difficult to send in the response card for a wedding, make a phone call (we are all attached to our phones, admit it), or heck I guess in these modern times it is appropriate to e-mail or facebook your response. Honestly, it is down right tacky to not RSVP when asked to do so.

Let me elaborate on why this is important. Depending on the event, tables must be set, food ordered or prepared, beverages purchased, seating arranged etc.. All of this is dependant on the number of people that plan to attend. If you don't RSVP and show up, there may not be enough seating, food, drink, etc... You will be thinking ""Gosh, I can't believe this hostess planned so poorly but really, it is YOUR fault"!!!

Lastly, another reminder. Don't call for directions/details thirty minutes before the party starts. I am busy doing last minute things, like plating the food, pressing play on the music, and making sure my appearance is presentable. See, if you had RSVP'd in the first place this would be the time to get directions or any other information you may need.

So, let me know, what are your thoughts? Have you been a poor responder in the past, or are you the hostess left dangling?

On another note, I joined the Bloggy world! WOO HOOO!!!! I've read your blogs for quite some time and I am excited to contribute. Hang with me as I get the ball rolling. Feel free to ask questions, leave comments, etc.....

XOXO,
H
